Spisska Borovicka - 16th theme tourney C 10.9.2004


In connection with Chalkidiki 2004 congress Peter Gvozdják announces his 16th thematical tourney Spisska Borovicka, competition for all kinds of original problems in 2 moves (#2, =2, h#2, s#2, r=2 etc...) and showing one of the CYCLONE themes. In addition, at least one "Pelle" move (by White or Black) is required. (Pelle move = The unit is pinned before as well as after playing the move.) Twins, more solutions, promoted pieces and any fairy pieces and/or conditions are allowed.

The prizes & the judge: bottle & CYCLONE & other books & Peter Gvozdják.

There are two ways of entering:
  1. You may send the entry by e-mail to Peter Gvozdják at peter.gvozdjak@gmail.com. In that case the entry should be received latest on August 27th.
  2. You may also give your problems at Chalkidiki congress personally to Mr. Formánek. In that case he should receive your entry before Friday September 10th, 9.30 A.M.

Shedey cycle. Here, one defence in each phase is thematic for 16th Spisska Borovicka: the move 1...Rb5 is thematic after 1.Bd7, but not after 1.Re4, as Rf5 is not pinned before the move. On the other hand, the move 1...Qe3 is thematic after 1.Re4, but not after 1.Bd7.
