21th TT Chess Composition Microweb C 5.5.2007
Our previous 20th TT Chess Composition Microweb was not so successful as many precedent and I have
almost decided to stop the organization of tourneys. However, the response from readers to my question has persuaded me that
there is still place for my regular tourneys, even if fairy chess tourneys are nowadays very popular and almost at any time
there is more than handful running. Hopefully I will be able to come up with interesting themes often enough.
As is already usual, the theme presented in the TT CCM is coming from my quite long list of (in my view) interesting themes.
I am updating it when I come across something flexible and fairy enough to deserve looking at. For the first time I have
"discovered" the chosen theme when I was composing for the Wola Gulowska 1998. Polish tourney regularly includes section for
fairy s#2 and that year it were s#2 in Madrasi. I have got the 1st Commendation there and
later I have published one more problem with the same thematic element in Phénix 1999.
Then it appeared even in the last commended twomover in 6th TT CCM.
Who can guess the theme now? Well, here it comes...

Examples
So far we have published on CCM probably only the following thematical examples:
- #2 by Georgij Jevsejev - White king plays in key and then there is threat and 5
variations with varying paralyses of kings. Extremely good example.
- s#2 by Erich Bartel - Something from the other side: white king makes key that
paralyzes both kings, effectively taking 10 flights of two kings. "Unusual" is mild description...
- s#2 by Juraj Lörinc - ... but it is so easy to take even much more! In diagram
position bK has 8 flights, wK has 7 flights. Both try and key take 15 flights of two kings. As an author I can say without
offending anybody: disgusting! :-)
- s#2 by Juraj Lörinc - But well, it is possible to change two variations while
letting the bK to do the dirty job.
